Virgin cork is the bark that comes from the cork tree the first time it is taken from the tree when it is 30 years old. It is light weight, rot resistant, non-toxic, soft and buoyant. Virgin cork is an environmentally and ecologically friendly renewable product.
Virgin cork can be used for terrariums and reptile habitats; the cork tubes make an ideal area for frogs, reptiles, snakes, lizards and other animals to have a safe place for sleeping, resting of hiding. Zoos around the world use virgin cork bark to create safe habitats.
Our cork bark tubes often come with live moss or lichen, and each piece is beautifully unique.

Cleaning tip: We recommend sterilizing all cork bark (even when heat treated) before use. Simply wash the cork bark piece under running water to remove debris, then, while it is still wet, bake at 300°F for 30 to 45 minutes.
