Be sure your animals can not touch these emitters as they get very hot and will burn on contact. Always use a light fixture that is rated for the wattage of the bulb or higher. Fixtures and safety cages can be found at Bean Farm.
- To ensure accurate heat transfer there should also be a thick natural slate or rock placed underneath the heat lamp at a suitable distance for your own species.
- To further protect your animals and to extend the life of the lamp these lamps should be used with a suitable thermostat and checked regularly with a separate thermometer.
- When used properly, CHEs can last several years before needing to be replaced.
Note: To get the most life out of your bulb please be sure to shut off power to the fixture BEFORE removing or installing a bulb.
