Awesome and easy to use thermostat. Read the whole guide, not long at all and really gives you all the into you need to get started!! I was afraid it'd be hard to operate, but the parameters and settings are simple and working well so far! Love it. Even received an email from bean farm letting me know i can reach out to them if i need help, which was very very much appreciated; really surprised me with their customer service! Will definitely buy from here again for my next setup.

We love our new SpyderHerpstat 2. I’ve got it hooked up and have a 4 period cycle on heat with a 2 period cycle on lights to simulate a day night cycle. The ramp up function allows me to set a gradual temperature gradient. Also used the Arcadia 80w dhp, Arcadia lamp cage, and the Arcadia Lamp holder all from Bean. Took a little trial and error but using the picture provided with an inside the tank mount of the dhp with the thermometer probe mounted 6 inches below has ideal day and night temperatures.
Why spend hundreds of dollars of your hard earned money on your dream reptile only to purchase an unreliable cheaper (INFERIOR) temperature controller? Herpstat 2 allows me to closely mimic Mother Nature when it comes to temperatures for my reptile enclosures. When lights come on Ramp Up feature allows for my heat panel and heat pads to gradually increase temperatures to my desired settings. Likewise, prior to lights out, Ramp Down (Nite Cycle allows you to set time when you want Nite cycle to begin) feature allows me to gradually drop temperatures. No additional add-ons required unlike some other temperature controllers where Night Cycle features are additional cost. Very reliable, owned my first Herpstat over 14 years ago……currently boxed up and set aside as back-up. Since then, I have used various Herpstat models(sold off as I upgrade). Currently using 4 Herpstat 2 for my reptiles.
bit of a learning curve but i'll learn it from the inside out! so far i love how it keeps my temps at the ideal zones.

Excellent thermostat but the instructions could use a little work. Only time will tell how reliable it is. As a retailer Bean Farm was fast to ship and the packaging was great. I highly recommend this retailer and product

Was a bit confusing to set up but once you do it gets easy to use. I have not found this to be set and forget I have had issues with maintaining temp and sending me error messages to my email. I had to switch it to less sensitive animals for safety. It works. Tech support will help you with your issues the best they can, so that’s good. Over all it is Ok if you are looking for simple this is not it. If you are looking for something that is a cool idea this is for you.

It does what it says it will do and works really well. The only reason it is not a 5 star review is that the new feature to set it up to check it from your phone is so confusing that despite many hours of trying to make it work I couldn't get it to. There are no online videos that I could find anywhere for set up either.
